WorthIt Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WorthIt collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the WorthIt app, website, waitlist, support channels, and related services.
When WorthIt presents this Privacy Policy during onboarding, account creation, purchase flows, or other in-app notices, tapping Continue or using WorthIt means you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. The Terms of Use explain the contract terms that apply to your use of WorthIt.
WorthIt is designed to help users scan items, estimate resale value, compare marketplace context, and prepare smarter selling decisions. Do not upload photos or messages that include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.

- UTM campaign parameters, such as source, medium, campaign, content, and term, when they are present in a website URL.
- Website analytics identifiers stored in cookies or browser storage so we can understand aggregate website traffic and whether App Store calls to action are working.
How We Use Information
- Provide item scanning, identification, pricing estimates, marketplace comparisons, and saved scan history.
- Operate free scan limits, Pro monthly scan limits, purchased scan packs, purchase restoration, and account access.
- Send account verification, password reset, waitlist, launch, support, and service-related emails.
- Respond to support requests, privacy requests, beta feedback, and account questions.
- Protect the app from abuse, duplicate scans, excessive traffic, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Improve scan quality, pricing logic, onboarding, accessibility, support, and product reliability.
- Measure website performance, marketing attribution, and App Store download button usage.
Photos, AI, and Marketplace Processing
Item photos and item details may be uploaded to Firebase Storage and processed by service providers that help identify items, generate resale estimates, interpret item details, or retrieve marketplace context. Results are informational estimates, not appraisals, guarantees, authentication, or financial advice.
WorthIt may use available eBay listing data as supporting context for resale value estimates when available. WorthIt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay.
We may use scan results, feedback, and operational data to improve WorthIt. We do not intend WorthIt to process sensitive personal photos, financial records, medical information, government IDs, or private documents.
When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, storage, databases, hosting, functions, security, analytics, and operations.
- PostHog for website analytics, attribution, pageview measurement, and App Store click measurement.
- OpenAI or other AI service providers for scan identification and resale estimate generation.
- RevenueCat and Apple for subscriptions, entitlements, extra scan packs, receipts, and purchase restoration.
- Marketplace data providers or APIs used to support comparable listing context.
- Professional advisors, legal authorities, or safety and security recipients when needed to comply with law or protect rights.
- Successors if WorthIt is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide WorthIt, maintain accounts, enforce scan limits, support purchases, respond to requests, improve the product, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service. Temporary uploaded scan images may be deleted after about 30 days unless they are saved or otherwise needed to provide the service. Saved scan images may be kept while they remain saved to your account or device history. Some records may remain in backups, logs, purchase systems, fraud-prevention records, or security records for a limited period.
Your Choices and Requests
- You may use WorthIt as a guest where guest access is available.
- You may create an account to help manage recovery, purchases, and settings. Scan history may remain device-local unless cloud sync is available.
- You may request account help, data access, correction, deletion, portability, or waitlist removal by contacting us.
- You may delete your WorthIt account in the app where that feature is available, or contact support for help. Account deletion is intended to delete your WorthIt sign-in account, uploaded scan images, and WorthIt account data, subject to legal, security, backup, purchase, and fraud-prevention retention needs.
- You may manage subscriptions, cancellations, and certain refund requests through your Apple account settings. An active Pro subscription may be restorable through Apple, but unused extra scan credits tied to a deleted WorthIt account may be deleted and may not be recoverable.
- You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails by using unsubscribe options or contacting us.
- You may opt out of WorthIt website analytics by using the analytics notice or the "Opt out of analytics" link in the website footer. This opt-out is stored in your browser, so it may need to be set again if you clear browser storage or use a different browser or device.
State and Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to appeal certain privacy decisions. You can make a request by emailing support@worthitapp.net. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect WorthIt and user data, including Firebase security controls, authentication, storage rules, device checks, and operational monitoring. No internet or cloud service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
WorthIt is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to WorthIt, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
